We know we are a little late with this announcement, but our journey from the Farmhouse to the White House didn’t just happen overnight.  And when you’re negotiating with the White House Staff to allow the Family to visit the White House, a little extra time is needed.  So, WELCOME to the 2006 Robinson Family Reunion! 

We are excited about this year’s reunion in the Washington D.C./Maryland and Northern Va. area and are planning a wonderful weekend.  God has brought our family from a mighty long way.  From the days of slavery to 2006, we have truly come this far by faith. Thus, our theme for this year is:

From the Farmhouse to the White House:

 We’ve Come This Far by Faith. 

 

Come join us at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Herndon,

 VA.,

  July 28-30, 2006, where you’ll experience life at the farmhouse and the White House.  Meet George & Martha Washington, visit the White House, or take a hay ride on the farm.  Come in your traveling shoes Friday evening.  Come dressed in white to honor our ancestors Saturday night.  Come strictly casual for our Farmhouse Church/Praise Concert & Picnic Sunday Afternoon.  Just remember, however you choose to come, Come by Faith!!!

 

Here is the agenda for the weekend.

 

Friday – Welcome Reception & Sprucing up the Family Tree:

 

Update the Family Tree in the Robinson Reunion White House Boardroom

 

-         a key part of the weekend will be to produce a family tree to be distributed to all family members

-         family members will be expected to browse the family tree and update the information

-         an updated version of our written family history will produced and distributed

 

Shootin’ the Breeze on the Farmhouse Back Porch or take a dip in the pond

 

Reunion registration and tickets and Family ID's will be issued

Attire:  Casual

Saturday – Fellowshipping with Family

 

8:00 – 11:00 AM:  Breakfast

 

9:00 AM:  White House Tour, Washington DC (tentative)

 

11:00 AM:  Sustaining the Future of the Family:  a Health Forum with medical professionals

 

12:00 PM:  Enjoy shopping on your own at some of Virginia’s best malls and shopping centers.  Choose from Tyson’s Corner where you’ll find stores like:  Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Hecht’s, Lord & Taylor, L.L.Bean, Banana Republic, Esprit, Sony Style, The North Face, Restoration Hardware, Kenneth Cole, The Disney Store, and the list goes on and on.  Or head out west to Leesburg Premium Outlets to enjoy a factory shopping center of premium stores with good buys on designer items such as Ann Taylor, Barneys New York, Burberry, Crate & Barrel, Liz Claiborne, Off 5^th - Saks 5^th Ave, Polo Ralph Lauren, Williams-Sonoma, and many more.

Attire:  To honor our past, all guests are asked to wear white (dressy casual).

 

Sunday - We’ve Come This Far by Faith

 

8:00 – 11:00 AM:  Breakfast at the Embassy Suites

 

12:00 pm – 4:00 PM:       "The Farmhouse Praise Concert & Picnic" featuring the Spiritual Voices of Praise.  We’ve come this far by faith, now we come together to give God all the praise.  Church/Concert & Picnic will be held at Frying Pan Farm Park, 2739 West Ox Rd., Herndon, VA in a converted farmhouse on over 100 acres of farmland.  Following the concert, take a family hay ride and meet the animals.

 

Our ambitious agenda is designed to be flexible and promote family fun.

Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-EMBASSY or calling the Hotel direct at 703-464-0200 and asking for the 2006 Robinson Family Reunion Group. The room rate is $119.00 and includes breakfast. Please make your reservation by July 7, 2006.

Children (age 10—15):      $30.00

White House Tour:                          FREE but limited to the first 30 people

 

Chuck E. Cheese:                           $13.00 per person (includes lunch and 16 game tokens)
