Calling all Robinsons, Peters, Broadys, Kilbreaths and Kerrs!

Sorry to be so late in getting this notice to you....but we’ve encountered a few obstacles in planning this year.  We   couldn’t get a hotel or the park we wanted in Staunton, so we’ve moved this year’s reunion to Pennsylvania’s capital city, Harrisburg, PA.  The hotel room rate is higher than we’d like, but we’ve still managed to put together a terrific package.

This is how the weekend will flow.

Sunday, July 29:

    Breakfast on your own

    Church service-11 am

  (Mt. Zion Baptist, Steelton, PA)

    Brunch immediately following worship service.

The cost is $65 for adults and $35 for children 11 to 3 years old.  (Children 2 and under are free.)

We will be staying at the Holiday Inn East, 4751 Lindle Road, Harrisburg, PA.  Reservations may be made by calling 717/939-7841. We’ve blocked 25 rooms in the name of the Robinson Family Reunion at  $121 per night...with up to 5 people allowed in a room.  Please make your reservation ASAP.  (There is a golfing tournament in Hershey that weekend and the rooms are in high demand.)  They will hold rooms at this rate for us only until June 26, 2007 and once the 25 rooms are filled, they cannot guarantee that additional rooms will be available

The earlier we let them know we need additional rooms, the better our chances will be of getting them. By the way, an early checkout fee of $50 will be charged to any guest who checks out before their stated departure date.

All events, except for the worship service, will be held at the hotel.  It has two pools (indoor and outdoor), hot tub, fitness room and every outdoor convenience we could want (tennis courts, basketball court,  plenty of space to relax in.) restaurant and bar.

*There is a separate fee to attend HersheyPark Day.

Hopefully, the location change will be an added incentive for many more family members to attend.  We’re looking forward to a record turnout.  Please schedule your vacation now so that you can join us!!  And don’t forget to complete and return your Registration form by April 30th!!

CORRECTION!!

Due to illness, this newsletter did not go out when planned.  We are therefore extending the due date for fee payment from April 15th to April 30th for the free T-shirt offer.  The Registration Sheet has the April 15th date on it.  Ignore it.

If you don’t want the free T-shirt, please be sure to return your Registration Form  by May 15th.

Is HersheyPark Somewhere You’d Like to Go?Hershey 100

HersheyPark (the sweetest place on earth!) is expanding and it’s about 10 minutes from our hotel.  If you can come a day early, on Thursday, we can arrange to get all day tickets at half price and the hotel will extend the special rate of $121 a night to Thursday. There is one flat price of $24 for

tickets for everyone 3 to 60 years  old.  Children two and under can get in free. Tickets for seniors (Over 60 years old) are $22.  We need for you to decide ASAP if you would like to participate.  While payment is not needed until July 9th, we need to know for planning purposes how many people want to

participate in HersheyPark Day.  If you and your family want to go, be sure to mark the response sheet with the number of people who will be attending.  The park opens at 10 am and closes at 10 pm.  In addition to the park, you can also visit the Hershey Museum and the Hershey Zoo for an additional fee.

And this year Hershey Park is celebrating 100 Years of HAPPY with:

exciting entertainment, spectacular fireworks, 100 nights of food music and fun  Boardwalkso come early and stay over!

Make the checks payable to: Robinson Reunion.

DON’T FORGET the WHITE-ON-WHITE BALL!!

Dress for the Saturday evening banquet is WHITE. We’re calling it a White-on-White Ball. Wear whatever you want, as long as it is all white. Be comfortable, dress up or down… but do it tastefully in WHITE!!

NOT SURE YOU WANT TO COME THIS YEAR?

 Not Sure

True,  we are all busy...but we need to make time for our annual family gatherings. Nothing is promised to you.  You may not have this chance again to meet with your blood relatives.  It’s taking time to stop and smell the roses, to remember from whence you came...remembering without a doubt not only who you are… but whose you are that makes life worth the living.  We take so much for granted these days.  We assume we have arrived to where we are in life because we worked hard for it and we deserve it.  Not so, we’ve arrived to where we are because someone else before us fought the battles.  Because someone else, before us took the pain...and made life for those of us who followed easier.  Because someone else before us made a way out of NO WAY.  We can’t begin to imagine the heartaches and trials they went through.  Nor can we imagine how proud they would be to see what we have been able to accomplish in 150 years.  Join us as we reflect on whose we are...all of you Robinsons, Broadys, Peters, Kilbreaths and Kerrs.  We’ll meet you there!
